Better Online Search Tools

There are many tools available on the internet that let you perform searches by name, phone number, or address. Each one is unique and provides a different set of results. So when you look for someone you might have to try several different web sites before you find the person you are looking for. Some tools try to help you out by letting you enter the information you have in one place, then perform many searches all from that same data, with the click of one button.

There are may good search tools that charge for their services. They may be able to return results that the free search engines can't. But.... why pay anything if the information you are looking for is available for free? Before you pay for an expensive service try the free search tools that let you perform many searches with little effort.

You've probably seen web sites like KAYAK.com that let you shop for airline tickets and more. You enter your data once and then KAYAK uses that data to query many other online travel sites. It then returns the results of all those searches to you.

What about search engines? Have you noticed that Google, Yahoo, and Bing all return different results from your searches? Some web sites such as VIVISIMO.com are Meta Search Engines that combine the results of many search engines into one list.

Again, the goal of these types of internet tools, is to make it easier for users to search larger volumes of content with less effort. And to do it all for free!

The examples above are great for travel sites, and search engines, but what if you are looking for a person? There are a lot of different white pages search tools, and a lot of different social media sites to search.

What if you were getting calls from a number you don't recognize? You might want to try a reverse phone number search to see if there is any information on it available to the public?

Did you forget the names of that couple down the street? You could search for them by address.

Are you looking for an old friend, a former classmate, or co-worker? You can find them by name. Don't know their address? You can try searching by state, or even nationwide. Facebook and MySpace searches also give you a great way find people that you don't have phone numbers or addresses for.

A useful white pages search tool would allow you to enter the information you have in one place, and then perform multiple searches across multiple sites and directories with ease. And do it all for free!

Such a tool would be useful to the general public and invaluable to certain businesses.
