Don't just follow others footsteps that have made money... That money is gone. You need to find your own niche and capitalise before anyone else gets going.

Retention
Looking after your customers is key. You will soon discover what is generating the income and make sure to keep that going. Once you start earning revenue... no matter how small at the start, it is crucial to realise that you are onto a winner. Sometimes it is pretty difficult to understand this when you have only made a few Dollars. Remember, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.

Don't Be To Greedy.
I see it over and over again. Affiliates fall out with their affiliate programs. This is a disaster and will kill everything you worked for. You need them a lot more than they need you.

It is crucial that you are aware of the affiliate program's terms and conditions. Whatever you do, never be in breach of the contract this will only put you in a situation where you lose no matter what. When I say you lose, remember that they have your money and need to pay you. It's not uncommon hearing affiliates moaning about not being paid what's due to them, when in actual fact they have used "dubious methods" to generate that income.

Perks of being an Affiliate
If you treat this as your own business and look after what you create, there is no better feeling than reaping the rewards. Affiliate programs run themselves once ticking over, and with little maintenance they easily generate money month on month. The hard part is getting it to tick over. This is by far one of the most rewarding jobs if you have a broad portfolio that you are interested in.
